We are incubating several web sites in LAMP. We
might want to discuss 'failures' i.e. sites that were successful technically,
but we are not pursuing them for various business model reasons. In that process
it might be a non-threatening discussion focussed on hows rather than fantasy
dollars.
myindiafamily.com - this was a passion of mine
to connect 20m+ overseas indians (NRIs) with their families (something I use for
our own extended family). It is a full but specialized social
network.
metubes.com - this is a fairly well populated video
site especially focussing on links for English and international movies. However
we left it due to fears of getting sued, and then there were 100s of these
sites. But it has a few features that are intereseting including Ajax, user
interaction, it was upto a fairly high Alexa rank with zero VC$s,
etc...
Also, I would like to ask the audience if and
how they would like facets of these sites reflected on the BIG social
networks like FB/Hi5/MySpace,Orkut etc.
