Greetings!
Our next meeting topic is:
Getting Started with Zend Framework with Bradford Cottel, Zend Technologies
In this presentation, Bradford Cottel, Zend's evangelist for open-source projects and products at Zend Technologies, will show you how easy it is to install Zend Framework and build a simple MVC (model-view-controller) application. Brad will lead you through the code, using a smattering of ZF components to build our first ZF application, explaining as he goes. He'll then take questions about the project in general and if possible, some technical questions--or will refer you to the correct mailing list in the ZF community for questions that he doesn't have the answers to.
Intended audience: Beginning PHP programmers, especially those without a lot of object-oriented PHP programming experience. Knowing web server basics would be useful, but not required. May be of interest to experienced OO PHP programmers who want to see how easy it is to get started with Zend Framework, but the code covered will be very basic object-oriented PHP 5 code.
